Dr.T.T.Srinivasan was born to Smt.Padma Tatachar and Sri. T.S. Tatachar, a renowned violinist, on 12th May 1949 at Mysore.

Sri. T.S. Tatachar was on the staff of All India Radio- Madras, Mysore and Bangalore for nearly 37 years.He had several titles and honors to his credit.

TTS hails from a family of Musicians. His grand father, Sri. T. Srinivasachar was a violinist. Sri. T. Srinivasachar’s uncle Sri. T. Sheshachar was also a violinist. T.T.S. had systematic training from his childhood in a traditional manner from his father Sri. T.S. Tatachar and thus was able to assimilate all the finer details of the instrument at a very early age.

Dr.T.T.S. gave his first concert at the age of 15 in the company of his father. Since then he is providing violin accompaniment to almost all the top ranking South Indian Musicians like Smt. D.K. Pattammal, Dr.M. Balamuralikrishna, Dr. M.L. Vasanthakumari, and Sri. Maharajapuram. S. Santhanam, Sri. D.K.Jayaraman, Dr N Ramani and others and now to present generation of artists. He has played many violin duet concerts with his father Sri. T.S.Tatachar. He has also given solo performances at various places besides accompaniment. Now T.T.S. is a leading violin vidwan of present generation.

CONCERTS:

He is an 'A' Grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan in which he has participated in

  • South Zone programme,
  • National programme and
  • Radio Sangeeth Sammelana

He has also participated in

  • Youth sangeethothsava of Central Sangeeth Nataka Academy,New Delhi and
  • SAARC Cultural Programme

He has extensively toured INDIA, USA, UK and CANADA to give concerts.

ARTICLES:

A few articles on Music written by Dr.T.T.S. are published in Shanmugananda Journal of Bombay and other Souvenir’s of Music Organizations.

POPULAR TALKS:

He has broadcast popular talks on science and music over All India Radio. He has also directed a music magazine program Sangeetha Samrajya over All India Radio.Recently he produced and directed a programme of seven episodes based on the compositions and works of Dr Rallapalli Anantha Krishna Sharma for the FM channel, Amritavarshini, All India Radio, Bangalore.

M.E.S.COLLEGE:

Dr.T.T.S. retired as a professor and Head of Physics Department at M.E.S. College, Bangalore on 31st May 2006 after serving the college for nearly 34 years. Earlier he served the college as the Head of Electronics Department since its inception. During his tenure in the college he was in charge of both science and music club for many years. He is also responsible for putting the name of M.E.S.College on the maps of science and music. For instance, he was responsible for celebrating

  • Sir C.V.Raman centenary
  • International Year of Physics--2005,
each for 2 days at MES College besides several other notable scientific programs.

He has served as

  • A Member, Board of studies in physics,
  • Chairman Board of Examiner’s of Bangalore university Examinations
  • In framing of syllabus of semester system of Bangalore University

He was the Founder chief editor of 'THE PEN' Physics news letter of Physics Department M.E.S College. Currently, he is THE DIRECTOR, ACADEMICS AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, M.E.S.GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS.

BOOKS:

Dr. T.T.S is an author of 1st year and 2nd year Pre-university Physics text books which are quite popular among students.

  1. Dr. T.T.S. has served as a Committee member of Malleswaram Sangeetha Saba, Bangalore.
  2. He was an Advisor to SPIC MACAY, Bangalore chapter.
  3. Currently he is The Convener, M.E.S. Kalavedi, a cultural forum of Mysore Education Society, 15TH CROSS, MALLESWARAM Bangalore.

FAMILY:

He is married to Smt. Geetha Srinivasan , Professor of Mathematics at M.E.S.COLLEGE.

They have two daughters

  • Smt. Meera Seshadri married to Sri Seshadri Vijayraghavan, now in Port land, Oregon state ,USA along with their son, Chi. Achyut.
  • Kum.Madhura
